Product Description

 Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula

For dry, wet, and congested coughs
Organic with Antioxidants

What is Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula?

Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is an all-natural dietary supplement formula for acute respiratory health challenges associated with non-specific fever, runny nose, coughing, and acute respiratory congestion (including the Canine Flu).   The herbs in this formula are known to be immune stimulating, fever reducing, drying and protecting to the lungs. Can also be used to strengthen and support immune system health when pet has been exposed to other animals with acute respiratory conditions.

You can give Pet’s Cough & Cold if your pet has been exposed.

What is the Canine Flu?

There are two levels of the Canine Flu:

The mild form—Some dogs have a dry cough similar to the "kennel cough" caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica/parainfluenza virus complex. For this reason, canine influenza virus infections are frequently mistaken for "kennel cough." Dogs with the mild form of influenza may also have a thick nasal discharge, which is usually caused by a secondary bacterial infection.

The severe form—Dogs with the severe form of canine influenza develop high fevers (104ºF to 106ºF) and have clinical signs of pneumonia which may be due to a secondary bacterial infection.

The fatality rate from the canine influenza is low (5% – 8 %). However, almost all dogs, regardless of breed or age, are susceptible to the infection.

To date, there is no evidence of transmission of canine influenza virus from dogs to people. However, because of concerns about diseases that are transmissible from dogs to people, in general, it may be prudent for young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and  immuno-compromised persons to limit or avoid contact with animals that are ill.

Follow good hygiene and infection control practices to help stop the spread of the disease. Keep infected dogs away from healthy dogs. Wash hands before and after handling each dog, after cleaning cages, before and after using the restroom.

Symptoms are similar to the canine flu, a dry barky cough with a discharge from the eyes or nose. Some dogs will display a soft moist cough with more discharge. The recommended protocol for the canine flu is Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula ™. For dogs with a soft moist cough, it is recommended that you use Vibactra Plus in addition to Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula ™.

Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula ™ is safe and can be used to help your pet battle many upper respiratory infections. Using Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula ™ in conjunction with Amber Technology’s Vibactra Plus ™ (an all-natural anti-biotic) may help those overcome pneumonia due to the bacterial infection canine flu can cause.

Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula ™ should only be used for specific ailments and conditions. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Amber Technology toll free (877-727-8243).

How to tell the difference between Kennel Cough and the Canine Flu:

The symptoms of the canine flu are similar to kennel cough with the exceptions of a discharge from the eyes and or nose. The canine flu is a viral infection verses a bacterial infection which causes kennel cough.

The canine flu can turn into pneumonia very fast if not treated. It has been found that not many antibiotics are affective on the canine flu. If you are using an antibiotic on your dog and it continues to worsen it may be because the antibiotic is ineffective towards the virus.

Because the infections are of a different source and not enough studies have been performed they need to be treated differently. We suggest using the Kennel-Koff for kennel cough and the Pet’s Cough and Cold Formula for the canine flu.

If you are not sure what your pet has, it is perfectly safe to use both Kennel-Koff (antibiotic) and Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula (cough formula).

If your pet continues to cough after 10 days of using the product we recommend taking your pet to your Veterinarian for further diagnosis.

For each one ounce bottle, the number of pets that receive a full ten day course of Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is determined by calculating the total absolute dose based on weight (see chart).

The standard dose of Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is administered orally 4 times daily or as needed. Always seek professional attention from your veterinarian health care provider if fever is present or if the cough lasts longer than ten days. Do not administer to pregnant animals.

If you know your pet has been exposed to an illness such as canine flu, but is not showing the symptoms, administer the Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula twice a day for 5 days.

When treating more than one pet with the same dropper, it is necessary to assure sterile administration without carry over from pet to pet. The best way to assure this is to use the dropper only to transfer product to an individual sterile oral syringe—a different syringe for each pet. Those syringes should be sterilized after each use. Each pet should have its own syringe that is not shared with another pet. If a syringe is not readily available, until one can be found, one may mix the product with a larger volume of flavored fluid (e.g. tuna or salmon water) that is to be lapped from a bowl. However, the use of a syringe assures a more accurate dose.

Long Term Use:

Co-administration of Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula with Kennel Koff or other Amber Technology products is short term. However, there are clinical settings in which Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is utilized beyond a ten day regimen. Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula may be used for several months as directed for coughs due to asthma, air quality making it difficult to breath, prone to infections and various other conditions (as always consult with your veterinarian health care provider).

For the first six months of long term use, twice daily Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is administered on a rotating basis—six months on product administration followed by one week off in which no product is given. This six month on/one week off staggered schedule may continue as needed for the first six months of chronic use, defined as chronic after the initial ten days of administration.

Administration of Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula beyond one year mandates a two week holiday from product before re-starting the same rotating schedule. Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula may be administered as described for up to three consecutive six month cycles. If further Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula is deemed necessary for the pet, then a minimum six month period off product is mandated, as is clinical discussion with your veterinary health care provider or with the staff at Amber Technology concerning re-administration of Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula beyond that time period.

Warning:

Keep Pet’s Cough & Cold Formula out of the reach of children under 16 years of age. One must not exceed the daily recommended dose. It is important to weigh your pet before administration of this product to obtain accurate daily dosing. This product is safe and effective when given as directed. The dosing guidelines must be followed exactly as written. Overdose of this product can cause serious side effects, to include irritability, change in behavior, reduced consciousness, vomiting and subsequent dehydration, stupor, coma, or in rare severe cases, death.

Idiosyncratic reactions (not related to dose) include but are not limited to allergic reaction, which may manifest as cutaneous erythema (red skin), hives, periorbital swelling (around the eyes), serious breathing problems due to laryngeal edema and glottal closure, or a combination of more than one of these. At the first sign of adverse reaction, to include even the more innocuous, one must cease any further use of this product and immediately avail oneself to emergency consultation concerning these adverse effects, which may include emergency assessment.

One should have all of the appropriate emergency contact information readily available before starting this or any nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or nutritional supplement. It is recommended that the pet owner, the novice in particular, discuss the use and side effect profile of this and any product with his or her veterinary health care provider.

Co- administration with pharmaceutical medications is considered safe in most instances, with no known exception. Both normal dosing and overdosing of this product in a pregnant animal statistically increases the risk of miscarriage. Therefore, the benefits of product are outweighed by its risks in the pregnant animal.

Use of this drug in the presence of endocrine pancreatic dysfunction (e.g. diabetes mellitus or acute infectious pancreatitis) is contraindicated.

Evidence of liver disease is a relative contraindication due to the presence of ethyl alcohol in this product . Alcohol may be removed by protocol (for every drop of Pet's Cough and Cold, add one drop of hot water in order to disipate the alcohol and let cool before administration). All benefits and risks of this product should be weighed appropriately before use.

For oral use only.
