OTALGIA DROPS is an all-natural dietary supplement formulated with a powerful combination of herbs designed to help relieve the pain & pressure in the ear caused by infection.
What Is An Ear Infection?
Acute otitis media is the common name for an infection of the middle ear, which is characterized by the presence of bacteria and accompanied by edema, mucous, and perhaps blood, and is associated with pain and other constitutional symptoms such as fever. The middle ear contains the boney ossicles critical to the sense of hearing. Uncleared (trapped) mucous can have serious consequences, such as super infection and chronic otitis media. In turn, grave consequences such as sinus infection, meningitis, & meningo-encephalitis may occur, the later having a high mortality rate. More commonly, chronic otitis is associated with recurrent infections commonly associated with hearing loss.
Otitis media is commonly caused by rhinovirus (head cold) or by another virus that is one of a variety of ubiquitously-occurring airborne viruses. Otitis may also be primarily caused by bacteria. Bacterial infections may also be characterized by secondary super-infection of a primary viral ear infection that is untreated or partially treated. Swollen and inflamed Eustachian tubes become clogged with fluid & mucous in the presence of a viral head cold. Trapped air & fluid may become infected, leading to Otitis. Affected adenoids, located in the throat, may spread infection to the ear via contact with contiguous Eustachian tubes as well as act to affect blockage of normal Eustachian tube drainage.
Hearing
Suboptimally-treated or untreated ear infections can cause a temporary hearing deficit that may become permanent. During development, hearing deficits associated with ear infection are known to cause serious
hearing imparities.
Symptoms
Your pet may shake its head and scratch its ears to try and get the debris and fluid out. The ears often become red and inflamed and develop an offensive odor. A black or yellowish discharge commonly occurs and fever may also accompany the infection.
For severe infections (if fever or discharge is present, or if the infection is behind the ear canal) use Amber Technology’s herbal antibiotic Vibactra or Vibactra Plus in addition to the Otalgia Drops or consult your local Veterinarian.
REMEMBER: An animal with an ear infection is uncomfortable; ear canals are sensitive.
Otalgia Drops can treat dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, raccoons and other animals.
Don’t mistake an ear infection for ear mites
Signs of Ear Mites might include:
- Your pet has reddish-brown or black waxy buildup inside the ears. Use a bright light to inspect.
- Your pet starts to scratch when you gently rub the ear flap against the ear.
Amber Technology has recently added herb Yucca to help rid ear mites. Please check the list of herbs before treating ear mites.
It is NOT advisable to use Otalgia Drops as a preventative.
Otalgia Drops is NOT to be used orally.
Suggested Use:
Drop 3-7 drops into infected ear 4 times a day.
Shake well before use.
To administer the number of drops indicated, lay the dropper across the entrance of the ear so the liquid first goes onto the outside and then drains down the ear canal, rather than placing the drops directly into the earlobe. You may be more successful if done in this manner. Carefully apply drops into the affected ear while the head is partially tilted away from the side of the infection in a sitting position. Repeat every 4-6 hours, four times a day. Every 2 hour dosing is indicated for pain refractory to normal dose schedule.
If pain is prominent, it is recommended that this product is used in tandem with Vibactra Plus. It is also recommended your veterinarian check the ears in case of more serious situations. IF YOU MISS A DOSE, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule DO NOT DOUBLE THE DOSE.
When treating more than one pet with the same dropper, it is necessary to assure sterile administration without carry over from pet to pet. The best way to assure this is to use the dropper only to transfer product to an individual sterile oral dropper—a different dropper for each pet. Those droppers should be sterilized after each use. Each pet should have its own dropper that is not shared with another pet.
Long Term Use:
Co-administration of Otalgia Drops with Vibactra or Vibactra Plus or other Amber Technology products is short term. Vibactra is used to aid with infection behind the inner ear. If your pet requires additional treatment contact your veterinarian health care provider.

Do not use if the eardrum has ruptured (if bleeding) or if tubes are present.
WARNING:
Keep Otalgia Drops out of the reach of children under 16 years of age. This product is safe and effective when given as directed. The dosing guidelines must be followed exactly as written. This product must not be given with foreign objects placed in the ear, such as Eustachian implants or tubes. This product must not be given if the inner ear is swollen or if there is evidence of blood without the guidance of a Veterinarian. If symptoms do not improve within ten days, consult your veterinary health care provider. Discontinue use if your pet is experiencing any adverse symptoms.
Overdose of this product can cause serious side effects, to include irritability, change in behavior or vomiting. Idiosyncratic reactions (not related to dose) include but are not limited to allergic reaction, which may manifest as cutaneous erythema (red skin), hives, periorbital swelling (around the eyes), serious breathing problems due to laryngeal edema and glottal closure, or a combination of more than one of these.
At the first sign of adverse reaction, to include even the more innocuous, one must cease any further use of this product and immediately avail oneself to emergency consultation concerning these adverse effects, which may include emergency assessment. One should have all of the appropriate emergency contact information readily available before starting this or any nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or nutritional supplement. It is recommended that the pet owner, the novice in particular, discuss the use and side effect profile of this and any product with his or her veterinary health care provider. Co-administration with pharmaceutical medication is considered safe with no known exception. For ear use only.
Otalgia Drops Contain:
Olive Oil, Yarrow, Mullein, Onion, White Willow Bark, Garlic, Yucca Root.
Olive Oil - Diuretic, Blood Sugar. Olive leaf stimulates anti-microbial activity against many species of virus and bacteria, as well as provides an enhancement for the imuune system. Olive leaf can lower blood pressure and improve circulation and help maintain appropriate blood sugar levels.
Yarrow – Astringent, Fever Reducer, Anti-Inflammatory, Antispasmodic, Tonic, Blood Pressure Reducer, Bleeding, Diuretic. Reduces fever, bleeding and pain. Strengthens the digestive system. Can be used to for colds.
Mullein – Expectorant, Emollient. Primarily used as an expectorant. Mullein has anti-viral properties, astringent properties, promotes the discharge of mucus and soothes irritated mucous membrane.
Onion – Diuretic, Antibiotic, Expectorant, Antirheumatic, Anti-Inflammatory, Analgesic. Onions are used to promote overall good health. Onions may be taken to help fight off a cough and cold. Onions may be taken to prevent arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), angina, and heart attacks. Onion juice may be placed in the ear to soothe an earache.
White Willow Bark – Astringent, Anti-Inflammatory, Analgesic, Fever Reducer. A natural form of aspirin, used to treat arthritis pain as well as rheumatic pain, relieves inflammation, reduce fevers and headaches.
Garlic – Antibiotic, Expectorant, Anticoagulant, Tonic. Garlic can also be used to boost immunity, help to fight intestinal infections as well as parasites, work on chest infections or coughs. It works as an expectorant to thin mucus. Garlic has been shown to lower blood pressure by thinning the blood. It also lowers cholesterol levels. Garlic is known to lower the levels of sugar in the blood, making it excellent for use by those who have Type II Diabetes.
Yucca Root – Anti-Inflammatory. A popular remedy for all kinds of inflammation, such as arthritis, rheumatism, bursitis, colitis, and other inflammatory conditions.
